Fremantle Carnevale is an annual community cultural celebration. It presents a uniquely local reflection on the Carnevale tradition. Initially inspired by the vibrant rural Carnevale of Campania in Southern Italy, the Fremantle Carnevale began in an East Fremantle backyard in 2009. In 2010, 2011 and 2012 it spilt out onto the streets of Fremantle.
You are invited to explore the roots of the ancient festive traditions through workshops and other programmed events, or create your own event, costume or character and take part in the Fremantle Carnevale.
